I have recently received my map box and just had to let you know how truly delighted I am with it. The quality of the box and the engraving is fantastic. I love the tactile nature of the sketch map in particular. The box will have pride of place in our campervan as we embark on planned trips around Scotland next year and will house our collection of vintage cloth maps.
I will definitely be ordering an A4 box soon.

My map box arrived much sooner than expected, and it’s a lovely bit of kit. I couldn’t quite believe that OS don’t sell a branded map box themselves, but in the end I’m glad that they don’t as this wooden one is much nicer.

Ordered personalised map and A4 file boxes as gifts for Father’s Day – these are so well made, real pieces of art…and smell lovely too. Staff at From the Workshop were really helpful, going above and beyond to make sure the gifts got here in time. Really pleased with these unique and useful items.

I ordered a Map Box for my dad’s 70th birthday, and it has just arrived (turnaround time 7 days brilliant) and I am so pleased with it. Thank you.
Lovely finish to the box, so well made. And thankfully I got the map positioning right on your website – he is going to be chuffed.
Finally, well done to whoever packed it. Fits the box perfectly and very well wrapped and presented. In fact I will be using the same wrapping to send it on.

We have just received our mapbox in super quick time
We ordered it at The Country Living Show in Harrogate. The service there was excellent. The map of Spain was very quickly found and a very appropriate quote for the lud.
The box is a perfect gift for Christmas.

I bought the Map Box as a present for friends who are avid walkers and have their OS maps just loose on the bookcase. When it was delivered I opened the packaging and removed the invoice, the actual box was well wrapped so I left it and just gifted wrapped it. When my friends opened it after their party they were absolutely delighted with the Map Box and sent me a photo and I must say it looked absolutely stunning, with a map of the Peak District (one of their favourite places) and the engraving finished it off. Great value for money, superb present, excellent delivery and service and will definitely be using this company again.

I bought a map box for my Dad for Christmas last year. He was very pleased with it. There was an error on one of the maps, however this was quickly resolved and we were sent a second box. We now have two boxes, so thank you!

Just received a Map Box no.9207 for my 66th birthday from my wife, daughter and grandchildren after a chance remark when advert spotted in Country Walking. It has the Seven Sisters sheet clearly engraved on it, we have walked here many times, and now contains my (our) OS maps of the whole of Sussex, South Downs Way and surrounding areas. A beautiful, practical piece of furniture which will hold so many memories just looking at the box and maps inside.
My wife was extremely impressed (not easy to do) by the member of staff who dealt with her call and order and we are both extremely pleased by the look, build, and oiled finish.

Thanks for your interest! Yes we would love to produce something for areas like the Scottish Highlands. Most likely it will be a personalise-able system so you can have a wall hanging 3D map. I’ll be in touch with you as we make further developments.

Thanks for your interest! We have done a successful Peak District 3D map and are planning to develop a way for you to choose an area and have a customised 3D map. And yes, most likely wall hanging! Crayon-proof is something we could look into..
I’ve made a note of your interest and will contact you as we have more developments in Feb/March.

A wall mounted version would be very practical. Unsure what wood you use as to whether staining would be a possibility?
Am keen for something that would resist crayons!

Would be nice to have some of the larger surrounding towns part-included to ‘frame’ the area I.e. Chesterfield

The idea of having a “map box” was inspiration!
Not to mention finding a gift that was perfect for a guy and was affordable too. However, the real joy was the product itself – really beautiful. I just loved this tactile, delightfully personalised box. I haven’t seen anything like this before and love it’s uniqueness too. The recipient of my gift was delighted. So, the only thing wrong is that I had to give it away!!

Our beautiful map box arrived for our anniversary. It was a great personalised gift as The Workshop was able to mark the location on the box where we were married and add our initials to the top. We were both so pleased with the beautiful craftsmanship and functionality for storing our sprawling collection OS Activity maps. The Workshop was also great with correspondence and assured the gift would arrive on time.

This is such a brilliant, yet quirky idea. I ordered a personalised map box for my husband as a gift and he loves it. The box is really well made and the OS maps fit in perfectly. The whole process was effortless and the box was delivered both well packaged and quickly. A really clever idea for anyone, particularly if the recipient loves the outdoors and where it is challenging to find suitable gifts. Definitely a conversation point when friends eye it. This is the most beautiful box and useful too. I needed it quite quickly and spoke to Richard who was extremely helpful and sent it within a few days. It was to hold a personalised map for our son and his wife’s first (paper) wedding anniversary and they were thrilled. It is already in use holding several maps! I have always been interested in maps; I did a thesis in the early 1960’s on the development of cartography from Speed to the present day. so when I saw an advert for the boxes in Country Living I ordered a map box with the map centred on the farm in which we spent our honeymoon in the Lake District 45 years ago. I was absolutely delighted with the reproduction of the map and the quality of the box, all done and delivered in less than a week. That was soon filled! I have now ordered another box with the map centred on our village in Shropshire and The Wrekin Hill. It arrived yesterday and is an absolute delight.

The boxes are a pleasure to handle, true craftsmanship, and beautifully finished.

Do not hesitate to buy one, you will love it.
