Isle of Skye 60cm Wall Map

The Isle of Skye Wall Map is carved from hardwood and engraved with a sharp, clean map design.  This extensive piece shows great detail including footpaths, rivers and places of interest. It is 60cm square with a depth of 4cm, and a mounting board that gives a 1cm gap against the wall.

To make our maps we now use beautiful sycamore sourced from near our workshop in the Lake District. The hardwood is carefully seasoned, prepared and finally carved to shape. After engraving, the map is carefully finished with a natural blend of oils and waxes.

The Isle of Skye is the largest and northernmost of the major islands in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland.  The island’s peninsulas radiate from a mountainous hub dominated by the Cuillin, the rocky slopes of which provide some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in the country.  The wall map is formed using accurate Ordnance Survey data.
